The modern educational landscape requires the implementation of learning techniques capable of educating students while being flexible for their individual lives.
As Pennsylvania’s largest online learning consortium, the Capital Area Online Learning Association (CAOLA) provides schools with a comprehensive, high-quality curriculum that allows students to take courses online while remaining a member of their home school district.
This not only allows students the ability to participate in extra-curricular activities and maintain relationships with their peers, it positively impacts school district budgets.
CAOLA was founded by the Capital Area Intermediate Unit #15, a Pennsylvania Educational Service Agency, in 2009. The goal of the program was to help districts offer quality online learning options to students.
CAOLA also partners with other Pennsylvania Intermediate Units (IU’s) to offer a cost-effective online learning model. The goal is to enable other IU’s the offer the same high-quality curriculum and services to their school districts and educational programs.
The program has proven to be successful for schools and students across Pennsylvania. Currently, CAOLA partners with 10 PA Intermediate Units and a combined total of 150 school districts and programs, educating over 30,000 students!
